These look like good work aprons, but they're still very pretty. I have one that's much too nice to actually do housework in ... strictly ornamental. Thanks for sharing these pics.

I wonder how many of us have managed to actually work as a properly uniformed domestic? I was very lucky in that I met an understanding lady who didn't much care what I wore when working just as long as her apartment was thoroughly cleaned and the laundry and ironing attended to.

Over the years she very kindly bought all my everyday working uniforms from White Swan in the U.S. I like to think that she did this at least partly in appreciation of the work I did for her. Most days I wore an 'a' line dove grey dress with white ric-rac trim with aprons to match. When serving her a meal, which occasionally happened, I would wear a dressier black and white uniform and a head band.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Nice Housemaid, while I have 3 real, practical, working maids uniforms, I've only done some light housework when home alone...I can only imagine how you felt cleaning while properly dressed. I suppose that is a lot of the appeal of Bea's and Monica's stories. Wearing a maids uniform changes my attitude, its hard not to feel the role to the core when dressed as such. I do hope you'll share some of you experiences.

Nice aprons, I call them Granny's aprons, I have two similar ones, bought years ago in Melbourne, Australia. I'll try an send a photo to Bea for publication.
