Doctor Will Take You Now

Before realizing that I'd already posted it to this blog thirteen years ago, I was thinking of posting Bea's story "A Mother's Love," which happens to be another one that I thought might be a decent candidate for using as the basis for a short comic.  I actually lifted a line out of that one for one of my own comics once.  That story would be an interesting one to adapt, since it's written entirely as one side of a conversation, which would require me to add some new dialogue, though I don't believe that would be too big a challenge.  If I ever do turn one of Bea's stories into a comic instead of just endlessly pondering the possibility, it would undoubtably involve some rewriting, no matter what story I picked.  Anyway, since I already shared that story, here's another one of Bea's that, as far as I can tell, no one has posted to the blog before.

DOCTOR WILL TAKE YOU NOW

By Bea

"Come here"  she said "sit here, on my lap.  I've something to ask you."

I grimaced, but knew well enough not to argue, so started walking across the room to the couch where she sat.

She held up a warning hand that stopped me moving.

"Was that a naughty look I saw?"  She asked sweetly.  "Were you indicating that you didn't want to come and sit on my lap?  Have you forgotten so soon?"

I shook my head, grinned placatingly; shame faced at my own weakness, and started walking towards her again.  When I reached the couch, I lowered myself to sit on her lap.  Her arm then snaked around my shoulder, and pulled me down so that my head rested on her breast.
