In WIndows 7 - click Windows Start button (bottom left on screen). Select 'default programs' (on right hand side of menu) then select 'Set default program' and just select your preferred browser from the list. Hope this helps.

Yeah, it sounds like a compatibility issue. Other browser's should work such as IE or opera.
Hope you get sorted soon I'm getting withdrawal symptoms without you.
