3rd Post of the Day - MY BOOK!

This is now Monday - I didn't publish this on Sunday because I thought I'd found an error in Lulu. I hadn't.

It's just as well - because Lulu published a deal today (see the bottom of this post) where you can get 20% off with a coupon.  I'm not kidding - honest - but the deal ends on the 12th of this month - four days from now - so you might want to take advantage!  But on with the post I drafted yesterday.

Here it is - my newest Pride and Joy.  As you can see it's a Paperback on sale at Lulu - and will be on sale at Amazon a few weeks.

It's a 6 x 9 paperback with 215 pages.  The cover was designed by Carrie - nice, huh?.  I've asked Xaxa for a review.  (I'll admit that I know he likes my stuff - but I have asked him to look at the whole thing.  On vacation at the moment though, his review probably won't show up on his page until the end of this month - but I know that looking on his page for the review won't hurt too many people - it's a great blog.)

Price?  There are two options.  The book is $15.26.  The download of the whole thing is $6.99.

I have to ask the same price and can't give discounts to readers of this blog (But discounts of 20% are offered through 8/12 - see the notes below)  - but what I'm figuring is that if you buy the book - NOT the download - I'll send you two more stories of your choice from my store.  So look at it this way - you'll get five stories that I normally sell for $25 for $15.26!  (All you'd have to do is e-mail me - tell me the Number on the back of the book - and name the two stories you want.  No problem)

The download is a good deal all by itself.  You get three stories that I normally download for $15 for $6.99.   - so I figure that at that price, you're getting a bargain anyway.  Even a SCOT has to grin at that!

You want to buy either?  Go to Lulu.com.  Click on the "Buy" tag.  Search for "A Walk on the OTher Side". then pick whether you want the book or download - and it's straightforward from that point. (Except you will be asked for that coupon code that is shown below)

I've wanted to do this for a long time.  I know that a lot of the more extreme types laugh at my stories for being on the mild side.  The gentler types may buy a more raunchy story - and never buy another.  I DID try and cover a lot of bases in my writings so I have some very mild stories - though most have 'some' raunch.  Then I have some where I do get raunchier than usual.

In this book then, I try and give one of each type.  "Two Stews" is a mild story about a male taken over by stewardesses. "Silken Domination" is more like one in the middle, while "The Sissification of Martin" is about as raunchy as I get.

Now for the stuff I wrote today (8/8/2011)
Two ways to lower prices

So?  That's the deal.  I think that the book is worth the asking price - so please buy it.  I'm not  going to futz around either - the two free stories I offered that go with buying the Paperback?  That offer still stands. (I know that I sound like a huckster - but I really AM telling the truth).

BTW?  One thing I forgot on the competion that I didn't mention?  You are not limited to one try - I want everything I can get!  (If you haven't read about the competition? That post was on Sunday)

  1. Oh, the cover actually works. Seems rather appropriate for an erotica collection.

I've read all three stories and I believe I can safely say that if you're a fan of Bea's work, you are likely to enjoy this book. If you're reading this blog, chances are you're already familiar with Bea's work and therefore, this book hardly requires my endorsement, so maybe I'd be more useful registering an account with Lulu and writing a review there. But I'll give some of my off-the-cuff thoughts here, and then maybe refine them if I write a more in-depth review later.

I was a little curious about the decision process that went into selecting these three particular stories for inclusion, and in hindsight, I can see how the raunch factor increases with each one, though they're all sexy in their own way. There is a little something for each taste.

One could also say that the protagonist in each story embodies slightly different recurring archetypes: the shy, virginal guy, the married man and the would-be lothario. I'd have to say that the first story, "Two Stews," is my favorite out of the three, as I personally find the main character in that one more relatable than the other two. However, there is something satisfying about seeing a guy who is kind of a jerk, like the titular character in "The Sissification of Martin," get taken down several pegs. This may be a nit-pick, but the one thing that nagged at me about that story was that the main female character was so mysterious, her motivations were maybe a tad hard to follow. "Silken Domination" doesn't have that problem as it uses the storytelling technique of shifting POVs, which I kind of like as it allows the reader to get more into the heads of the characters.

In my admittedly limited experience, Bea is definitely one of my favorite writers of this type of fiction, but again, I may be preaching to the choir here.

  3. Daisy:

Thank you dear. Glad you took Lulu up on the discount - but don't forget to write me with the number from the back of the book - and tell me two stories you want. I'll send them by return of mail.

    Hugs

    Bea

  4. Whoops! I just realized. The second story isn't called "Silken Domination," it's "Silky Smooth and Satiny." If I'm not mistaken, "Silken Domination" was one of your short stories.
