I don't REALLY think that the kids are playing on the next post - just love that swing music!
According to the imdb trivia, while many of the actresses had never played instruments before, they took intensive lessons at the Yamaha Music School for several months prior to filming, so that by the time shooting commenced, none of the music needed to be dubbed- all the music in the movie was performed by the actor and actresses themselves. They even did live concerts in Japan and the U.S. to promote the film.
